Hello, my name is Glenn, the “Accidental Tourist.” Welcome to my photography page! I’ve selected some of my favorite photos from down the street and around the globe for you. I’ve been a photographer for most of my adult life. A few years ago, I began to take this art form a bit more seriously.
For decades, I owned an Olympus OM 1 (I still do). In 2010 I transitioned to digital photography, using a Nikon D60 I found on Craigslist. While inexpensive, it taught me valuable lessons about the basics and of course the Nikon brand. Imagine getting a new camera and within days, going on a trip to Switzerland? It was a magical trip: The Swiss Alps, The Montreux Jazz Festival, and the amazing intersection of cultures. Let’s not forget me falling down an up bound escalator while trying to save my tripod! I shot most of the photos in automatic mode, purely out of fear of messing something up! It’s still one of those experiences I wish to revisit. Since those days, I purchased two new Nikon camera bodies and traveled all over the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Central America While enjoying the journey, I learned so much about composition, lighting, and post processing.
I currently shoot with a mirrorless full frame Nikon Z6. It’s a wonderful camera with huge potential. My “walk around” lens is a Sigma Art 24-105 f/4. In 2018, I picked up a Sigma Art 14-24mm lens to add a wide-angle perspective for landscape photography. And, I recently picked up a hefty Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 zoom lens, to take photos of Lions & Tigers without sitting next to them! At some point, I will move up again with a more sophisticated camera body, perhaps to a Nikon 850. I have several years of mastering my current Mirrorless before the next move. Now is the time for me to shamelessly plug my great website: glennejonesphotography.com
Perhaps, you’d like a copy of some of my photos or even a custom photo book made for you? On this website, there’s a place for you order copies or send me a message. Until then, enjoy my journey by checking out my website and travel.
